For those of you who haven’t noticed many blogspot blogs, .info and .co.uk domain have totally bombed out of the SERPs!
For example looking at the keyword phrase “make money online” the two websites that have been ranking in the number 1 and 2 position for a very long time are no where to be found.
We are in the early stages of this change and the word is starting to spread.
The only reason I can think of that Google would penalize all websites with these extensions is because a majority of spam comes from them. Is it fair to penalize every webmaster using blogspot hosted blogs or one of the mentioned extensions?
One thing is for sure if this sticks the amount of spam and crap websites in Google index is going to drastically reduce. The suggestion I have right now for those affected would be to grab a fresh .com or .net and 301 redirect to it ASAP.
Hopefully doing this will help you salvage the content and backlinks from your website that was hit with this penalty.
I have done a search and have been unable to find any blogspot, info or co.uk domains ranking in the top 10 or 20 for that matter for any keyword phrases.
If you have or had a website that was ranking and now has been slapped please comment here with the details so we can evaluate this further.

Yes I have noticed the same thing which started about 5-6 hours ago. All my competitors that had blogspot blogs and gone!
It’s great news for me but is it really fair to do? Guess we will see how this plays out.
I am targeting the phrase make money online and noticed I was bumped up a few notches. I saw that the two blogspot websites that have been in the top 10 for over a year have disappeared.
This is the first time those guys are absent from ranking for make money money online. This is sweet if it sticks because people use blogspot for crappy backlinks to their main websites.
Looks like the SERPs are returning for most of the blogspot blogs. I have never seen anything like this before.
Maybe Google was running a test on a new algorithm or maybe I am just crazy?!
It must have been temporary. The first result is from blogspot and so is one more fairly high in the first 100 results. There are no others in the top 100. I see four .co.uk as well.
